“SANTARVE” GYMNASIUM STUDENTS WELCOMED THE GUESTS FROM SPAIN, ITALY AND ROMANIA

24th April  – 1st May  the “Santarve” gymnasium of Siauliai was visited by members of the international project: students and teachers from Istituto Comprensivo Mazzarino (Mazzarino, Sicile, Italy), IES Sabinar (Roquetas de Mar, Spain) and Scoala Gimnaziala “Mihai Eminescu” (Rosiorii de Vede, Romania). In order to reach the project goals the group of 16 teachers and 29 students learned for a week how to stay healthy in the modern world, refused energy drinks, fast food and walked at least 12,000 steps a day. The project members got to know the Lithuanian nature and animals. They backed bread in the "Aušra" mill museum, made sweets in the "Ruta" factory, watched how kvass and beer were made in “Gubernija”, explored the beach of the Baltic Sea for amber and made health amulets of amber at the workshop "Napoleon." The students presented what they understood about healthy lifestyle on an International round table discussion of energy drinks. The project guests visited the town hall of Siauliai where they met the vice-mayor. Being together and communicating in English all the students became very good friends and now they are looking forward to meet in Spain and Italy.
