World Environment Day (WED)
2016-06-07
In 1972 on the 15th of December the general
assembly of the United Nations Organization announced the 5th of
June the World Environment Day (WED) which is dedicated to pay attention to the
environment around the world. This day was chosen because in 1972 on the 5th
of June the United Nation Organization held their first conference in which it
was discussed the problems of environment and later the protection programme
was created. Our Gymnasium also held the event for this day. The students from
5th and 11th grades drew the illustrations by the theme
“Save the Baltic sea” in the school’s stadium guided by the art teacher Dalia
Jovašienė and technologies teacher Ričardas Fabijūnas. This is the event of the
Erasmus+
project “Live naturally, live healthy” which is dedicated to the World
Environment Day (WED).

How to grow a tomato in the flowerpot?
We did that!
It is very important to use the substratum of
ground when you grow the tomatoes in the flowerpot. The first harvest is after
3-4 months. At first you can seed tomatoes in small utensils and later replant
them into the bigger ones because the height of tomatoes are really
important. You have to water them
regularly.
How do we breed the beautiful minks?
On the 17th of May
the participants of the project „Live naturally, live healthy“ visited the farm
of minks in the region of Šeduva in which they got to know little animals of
different species and colours. We were able to touch and hold and hear the
whining of the babies of minks. We also had the opportunity to ask the
questions we were interested in. We got the information about the care, food
and breed of minks. After the walk in the farm, the ones who wanted could ride
the special machine of feed. We finished our short journey with delicious
pizzas and cosy conversations about the events of the day. All the participants
were happy and full.
